The Cost Accounting Standards Board (CASB) is an independent board legislatively established to make, promulgate, and amend cost accounting standards (CAS) and interpretations so as to achieve uniformity and consistency in the practices governing the measurement, assignment, and allocation of costs to contracts with the United States.
