Joint Strategic Targeting Planning Staff
The Joint Strategic Target Planning Staff (JSTPS) has produced the principal war plan of the United States, the Single Integrated Operational Plan (SIOP), together with its target list, the National Strategic Target List (NSTL). The JSTPS was responsible for determining the targets for U.S. nuclear weapons and the priority in which they should be engaged in the event of a general nuclear war.
